We are a non-profit entity established with the purpose of supporting, empowering, and contributing to the development of vulnerable women artisans from rural and peri-rural areas located at the foot of Nevado Huascarán, 3,500 m above sea level, in Ancash, Peru.
The organization operates a Textile Workshop, which has been running since 2016 under the name Tejiendo Esperanza. As of late 2023, TEJIENDO UN MAÑANA has taken over its administration.
We want to transform their lives through weaving, professionalizing their skills, and creating a real long-term impact.
Our organization supports over 100 artisans who face daily challenges such as illiteracy, poverty, domestic violence, inequality of opportunities, among others.
Through our textile workshop, we create employment opportunities and contribute to the development of a better life quality for the artisans. They receive training, professional assistance, tools, and materials, which enable them to create a variety of high-quality products using different weaving techniques.
As an Association, we aim to contribute to the preservation of our textile tradition, the empowerment of women artisans, access to training, and the creation of a work environment that fosters development and contributes to an improved quality of life on both a personal and family level.
We implement programs and activities that have a positive, lasting, and sustainable impact on the well-being of our underserved and/or extremely impoverished communities, with a particular focus on the development of women.
We aim to empower women with limited resources by providing them with employment through weaving, offering continuous training, and creating opportunities for personal and economic development.
We envision ourselves as a leading organization in transforming the lives of women in vulnerable situations. Our goal is to be agents of change, leaders in female empowerment, in the generation of sustainable income, and in strengthening the communities where we work.
We create sources of ethical and fair employment.
We directly impact the improvement of their living conditions, including access to basic health services, education, women’s empowerment, and recognition of their valuable work.
The weavers now have an income and take pride in their work. We also assist their children during school periods. In total, we impact around 100 artisans and their families.
The values that support us are solidarity, justice, responsibility, respect, tolerance, confidentiality, empowerment, fair trade, and gender equality.
We develop products for socially conscious consumers who value handmade items.
